Deborah received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art, in Philadelphia, PA, majoring in Illustration. Deborah developed a great passion for art from her early art classes in Kindergarten.
Her career began in packaging with a firm in Philadelphia. Within a few years, Deborah advanced to package designer and soon was recruited as an Art Director at another firm. Her innovative design techniques, and her hard work and her penchant for detail design work was a key factor in her taking on the task of hand illustrating, in pen and ink, a number of classic baseball parks across the country. Her ability to tirelessly focus to capture even minute detail in a hand drawn illustration was a key to producing the one of a kind, ball park illustrations that are a part of this series.
It all began with a request from a client, involved in baseball memorabilia, who approached Deborah with the proposal of illustrating old famous baseball parks. With reference material, aerial photographs and a love for pen and ink she started her journey on the re-creation of these memorable baseball stadiums from the past. These baseball stadium prints were originally featured in Skymall magazines, and several art galleries. Today you have the opportunity to own a one of a kind piece of history.
In 1981 Deborah opened her own Graphic Arts Studio, the Graphic Edge. Today 36 years later, The Graphic Edge, Inc. is a full-service Marketing and Design Agency, including hand illustration, print, web design, and social media. When not working at The Graphic Edge, Deborah turns her energies toward volunteering to help children in the community and school organizations, a passion that she believes in. She has been a member on numerous committees and fundraisers in the past for elementary schools, Boy Scouts of America, Central Bucks Athletic Association, Central Bucks East Soccer for Girls and Boys. She also served on the Accreditation for Growth Planning committee for Central Bucks East High School.
Deborah serves on the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as a Vice-President and the Pearl Buck Marketing Board. Outside of the many charitable events Deborah is also an active Republican committee person and an Exect in Bucks County.
Deborah was the recipient of a number of awards recognizing her contributions to art, business and the community. The awards include: the Central Bucks Chamber’s Woman in Business, Patricia Clatch Outstanding Woman in 2006 award, the Syd and Sharon Martin Business and Arts Advocate Award, the March of Dimes Business Award, and the Rotary 4-way test for Business Award.
Deborah enjoys her home with her wonderful husband Tom, her children, and her beloved westie. Over the past 42 years her children and all her goldens and westies have been featured in her annual holiday cards. A few of the more relaxing activities are maintaining her many gardens around her home, pencil drawing, pen and ink, watercolor painting, photography and boating.
