- Opened in 1911 as National Park, then American League Park and in 1923 was named Griffith Stadium after the owner of the Senators baseball team
- Designed by Osborne Engineering
- Home of the Washington Senators baseball team
- Original seating capacity was 27,000 increasing to a high of 29,700 in 1949
- Also home of the Negro league Washington Black Senators in 1938 and the Homestead Grays from 1940 to 1948
- Home of the Washington Redskins football team from 1937 to 1960
- Georgetown Hoyas from 1925 to 1950
- George Washington Colonials from 1930’s to 1940’s
- The stadium was demolished in 1965
